summer DEATHLY HOT
Written on 7/7/2026

The great return to Anthrocon! I stopped going with everything going on after 2020, but I was able to get more time off at work as of late, so I decided to return to my furry roots.

Overall, I had a good time, and enjoyed meeting some of the people I worked with on staff properly (not just over Discord/Telegram). There were some unfortunate bits which were nobody's fault really, such as the fursuit parade & block party being cancelled (aka, no parade pics 😕), delays for the 4th of July firework show due to thunderstorms, some inopportune rain, and of course, most notably, the DEATHLY HOT temperatures. Of course, the year I couldn't get a very close hotel was the year that it would be the hottest. By the end of my 15-20min walks to/from the hotel each day, I was sweaty as all hell.

I will say, having not attended for 7 years, it was definitely noticeably more packed in the DLCC. I think there are some improvements that could be made in regards to the crowd situations, among other things, but in the interest of not spending too much time ranting, I'll save my Opinions™️ for official channels (or some other time over drinks).

I once again went hard on the steps & distance, racking up 133,970 steps and 57 miles in walking distance. My legs and joints once again did not appreciate this, especially when I was trying to go hard at the dances, but I know how to better handle it now, so honestly, it wasn't as bad as last year's MFF. Perhaps my new exercise regimen is starting to do something as well.

Will have some limited pics up soon.

winter snow!!!
Written on 12/22/2025
I was crazy enough to staff for yet another year. It was similarly a lot of hours, but I felt a lot more confident in my staff role and just... my plan overall for the weekend. I got thrown into helping with a couple safety related events which is kind of outside of the scope of my role, but I was happy to help. I really went all out at the dances which I think solidified my continued attendance of MFF, and likely kicked off an expansion to some other cons... still to be determined 😉. Also, it snowed Saturday night!!! There had already been snow on the ground at the start of the weekend, and perhaps some flurries other days, but it started to legit snow Saturday night and there was definitely a little bit of accumulation. I live where it snows so it's not super special to me out of context, but I got to see folks who clearly had never seen snow before, so that was a lot of fun. There was just something kind of magical about coming out of the dance that night and suddenly seeing snow flurries. Made the walk back to the hotel more fun, anyway.

My legs, however, were not happy with my decisions that weekend. I accumulated 143,825 steps and walked the equivalent of 58.3 miles. Needless to say, I was not walking correctly for a few weeks and I'm honestly still having moments where things don't feel right. Oh well. Worth it. A tweet with some limited pics/vids.

My first MFF, also my first year staffing at MFF, and also my first time actually staffing on site at a con! I worked a lot of hours but overall had a good time.

First con! Very nervous, kind of overplanned, but had a great time and took lots of pictures.
