I was crazy enough to staff for yet another year. It was similarly a lot of hours, but I felt a lot more confident in my staff role and just... my plan overall for the weekend. I got thrown into helping with a couple safety related events which is kind of outside of the scope of my role, but I was happy to help. I really went all out at the dances which I think solidified my continued attendance of MFF, and likely kicked off an expansion to some other cons... still to be determined 😉. Also, it snowed Saturday night!!! There had already been snow on the ground at the start of the weekend, and perhaps some flurries other days, but it started to legit snow Saturday night and there was definitely a little bit of accumulation. I live where it snows so it's not super special to me out of context, but I got to see folks who clearly had never seen snow before, so that was a lot of fun. There was just something kind of magical about coming out of the dance that night and suddenly seeing snow flurries. Made the walk back to the hotel more fun, anyway.
My legs, however, were not happy with my decisions that weekend. I accumulated 143,825 steps and walked the equivalent of 58.3 miles. Needless to say, I was not walking correctly for a few weeks and I'm honestly still having moments where things don't feel right. Oh well. Worth it. A tweet with some limited pics/vids.
